What are canvassers expected to do?

Canvassers for We Vote MN will go door-to-door (canvassing), reminding people about the upcoming election and encouraging people to vote. The work is non-partisan – you will not be speaking about candidates or political parties.

Each shift is 4 hours. There is a short training at the beginning of your first shift. Most of the time, you will be walking through neighborhoods in Minneapolis and St. Paul, talking with residents.

What are the job requirements?

If you are signing up for a shift, you must be able to walk for 4 hours. Additional requirements are the ability to read and write in English, and attention to detail to complete the necessary paperwork.

What do I need to bring with me?

For your first shift, please show up 10 minutes prior to the start of the shift to sign in. You will need a photo ID on your first shift to complete necessary paperwork.

Do I need to have a car?

No, you do not need to have a car. All transportation during the shift will be provided by We Vote MN, unless you choose to drive yourself to the neighborhood you are assigned.

Do I need to have a cell phone?

A personal cell phone is not required, but will if you have one, it will be used for part of the job.

What is the pay rate?

Canvassers will be paid $18/hour.

When are we paid for our work?

Canvassers will be paid for each shift upon completion of their work for that day.
