Sina Black is the State Director of Minnesota Voice, a non-partisan collaborative of organizations and the local affiliate for the State Voices National Network. Minnesota Voice manages relationships, provides funding and program coordination with C3 partners as well as providing technical assistance in the area of program planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Sina has worked in service with community as a tutor, mentor, an Americorps Youth Program Director, an Americorps VISTA and for Community Action Partnership of Ramsey and Washington Counties as the Community Engagement Facilitator, where she created and implemented a leadership development program for low-income community residents that incorporated voter engagement and issue advocacy at its core. She served as the St. Paul/East Metro Regional Organizing Director for Minnesotans United for All Families Vote NO campaign, the largest grassroots campaign ever run in this state, making Minnesota the first state in the country to defeat a constitutional amendment to redefine marriage. She continued the marriage equality fight as the Associate Director for Outfront MN, working with others to pass marriage equality in Minnesota.
Sina has over 15 years of non-partisan civic engagement experience. She values directly involving everyday people in their communities to take a seat at the table where decisions are being made that personally impacts them. She believes only this type of engagement leads to the creation of sustainable solutions to the problems we face, connecting us to something greater than ourselves, and getting the justice our communities deserve.
